Nathaly's School Mural

Community Service Project: 7th grader Nathaly is going to paint a mural of her role model, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, to inspire BIPOC students by depicting Sotomayor as a youth who grew up to become a leader.

Mentor: Nathaly is being mentored by artist, Maria Lopez, in how to bring her mural concept to life through sketching and then painting the mural.

Partners: Nathaly is partnering with East Palo Allto Charter School to paint her mural on one of their walls.

Beneficiary: Students of East Palo Alto Charter school.

Fundraising Goal: Nathaly needs to raise $2,500 for the supplies needed to paint the mural. Help Nathaly achieve her goal!

Past Service Projects: Fence painting.

Citlaly Supports Single Mothers

Community Service Project: 5th grader Citlaly is supporting single mothers at three shelters in the Bay Area (Names coming soon). She is working with leadership at the shelters to determine their highest needs.

Mentor: Coming Soon.

Beneficiary: Single mothers in East Palo Alto and surrounding areas.

Youth panel shares their experience doing community service projects

Dana's Forensics Class

Community Service Project: 6th grader Dana creating a crime investigationn class to teach her peers from East Palo Alto how to investigate a crime scene.

Mentor: Dana is being mentored by detective Joseph Klein of the East Palo Alto Police Department to design and teach her class.

Partner: The East Palo Alto Police Department is hosting Dana's class.

Beneficiary: 10 middle schoolers from East Palo Alto.

Leo's Digital Literacy Workshop

Community Service Project: 7th grader Leo is designing a 6 week digital technology workshop to teach 3rd-6th graders vital STEM skills.

Beneficiary: 25 youth in East Palo Alto.

Fundraising Goal: Leo needs to raise $2,500 to create a digital literacy gift for his students so they can continue to learn vital STEM skills after his workshop. Help Leo achieve his goal!

Jeffren's Soccer Equipment Drive

Community Service Project: 4th grader Jeffren is collectting gear for East Palo Alto soccer teams who face funding challengings.

Mentor: Coming soon.

Parnters: Willows Soccer, Stanford Women's Soccer

Beneficiary: 20 East Palo Alto soccer teams. 250+ soccer players.

Fundraising Goal: Jeffren needs $3,000 to donate 1,000 cones, 400 soccer balls and 240 pennies. Help Jeffren achieve his goal!

Kevin's Lego Engineering Workshop

Community Service Project: 8th grader Kevin is designing a 6 part enginieering workshop that will use Legos to teach bridge building skills.

Mentor: Kevin is being mentored by Stanford Assoicate Professor of Eningeering, Kyle Douglass, to create and teach his class.

Beneficiary: 25 youth from East Palo Alto.

Fundraising Goal: Kevin needs to raise $5,000 to purchase Legos for his class so that every student can take their bridge home. Help Kevin achieve his goal!

Youth say what makes our nonprofit different

Isaac's Archery Class

Community Service Project: 4th grader Isaac is going to teach youth from his community of East Palo Alto how to use a bow and arrow.

Mentor: Isaac is being mentored by Roger of Archery Only to learn how to design and teach an archery class.

Partner: Archery Only is partnering with Isaac to host his class.

Beneficiary: 10 youth from East Palo Alto.

Fundraising Goal: Isaac needs to raise $1,500 so he can give his students a bow and arrow set as a gift to inspire an enduring love of archery. Help Isaac achieve his goal!

Bryan's Children's Book

Community Service Project: 7th grader Bryan is authoring and illustrating a book that he plans on giving to hospitalized children to make them smile.

Mentors: Bryan is being mentored by children's illustrator, Elizabeth Gomez and Luna Press Books owner, Holly Ayala, to create his book.

Beneficiary: Hospitalized children.

Diego's Preschool Play (Complete)

Community Service Project: 4th grader Diego wrote, produced and directed a Jurrasic Park play for preschoolers at the Primary School in East Palo Alto.

Mentor: Diego was mentored by Melissa Wilson, Co-Commissionor of San Mateo County Juvenile Justice Program, to design and perform his play. She taught him how to write a script, design a set, and train his cast.

Beneficiary: Preschoolers at The Primary School in East Palo Alto.

Skateboard Giveaway (Complete)

Community Service Project: 8th grader Cinthya collected and gave away 62 skateboards to kids in her community of East Palo Alto.

Mentor: Thiebaut Method Founder CEO, Paul Thiebaut III.

Partners: Society Skateshop, Altlas Skateshop, Skateworks, Boards For Bros, Zumiez, Skate Like A Girl, Girls Skate Network, Nonexistent, Sean Murphy, and more (See results below for full list of partners).

Beneficiary: 62 kids from East Palo Alto.

Fundraising Goal: Cinthya collected skateboards and nearly $5,000 to support her giveaway.

Our Founder explains why he created a passion-based community service program

Meal Giveaway (Complete)

Community Service Project: 5th grader Selene collected and gaveaway 50 meals to the unhoused in East Palo Alto.

Mentor: Selene was mentored by Thandiwe Lyons, Co-Founder of Onyxx Village Connection and Evelyne Keomian, Founder of Karat School Project to learn how to collect, prepare, and distribute meals.

Partners: Ecumenical Hunger Program, Dragger's Market.

Beneficiary: The unhoused in East Palo Alto.

Fundraising Goal: Selene collected food donations to prepare her meals.

Doghouse Donation (Complete)

Community Service Project: 4th grader Jayden built and donated a doghouse to Pets In Need's dog training center for dogs being trained to be adopted.

Mentor: Jayden was mentored David Bauer, owner of Bruce Bauer Lumber and Supply, and General Manager, Chris, to build his doghouse. And, Professional painter, Fernando Chulin.

Parnters: Bruce Bauer Lumber and Supply donated the materials for the doghouse.

Beneficiary: Pets In Need.
