Kevin
Grade 6
Kevin started TM excited about engineering and robotics, but not having access to the needed learning opportunities or resources at home or school.  TM taught Kevin how to read a hoverboard patent and then guided him to built a model tank. He then made a how-to YouTube video for students stuck at home during COVID and is currently turning his tank into a remote-controlled vehicle.

Leo

Grade 4

Leo has always wanted to code and design video games. When he started TM we found out one reason he hadn't was because he didn't have a computer at home. We promptly loaned him one. Then, after learning to build 4 games and starting to learn how to code, Leo shocked us when he said that before TM he thought he would never get better, but that TM showed him he could.

Leo started off recreating his favorite games

Monse

Grade 7

When Monse first started TM her mother didn't see her dream to become a doctor as realistic goal. The viewpoint at home was that Monse needed to think more practically. While we’re still working to encourage her mother to share her daughter’s dream, Monse has done an incredible amount of work to learn about her passion.

Monse’s achievements so far include interviewing and writing a blog about a Stanford pediatrician, interviewing a family and marriage therapist, learning about child development, doing research on pediatric prescriptions, and researching human and animal emotions.
